The Vet Space® helps women veterans build connection and community through nature, peer support, and trusted partnerships—because no woman veteran should have to navigate life alone.Our approach is simple: Connection is Prevention. We create opportunities for women veterans to connect, experience joy, access resources, and strengthen the relationships that help them thrive.We are seeking committed community-minded leaders to join our Board of Directors and help guide The Vet Space into its next chapter.

Our Immediate Need: Fundraising

Our most pressing organizational need is fundraising and resource development. We are looking for board members who are willing to:Open doors to potential donors, sponsors, and fundersMake introductions and cultivate community partnershipsParticipate in fundraising efforts and our annual fundraiserHelp strengthen the financial sustainability of The Vet SpaceWe are especially interested in individuals with experience or connections in fundraising, philanthropy, business, finance, marketing, legal services, outdoor recreation, veteran services, or community leadership.

Board Responsibilities

Board members provide governance, financial oversight, strategic guidance, and community leadership. Board members are expected to:Attend bi-monthly board meetingsParticipate in committee work and organizational discussionsSupport fundraising and resource developmentHelp advance strategic partnerships and programsFulfill fiduciary responsibilities of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizationAct as ambassadors for The Vet Space in the communityBoard terms are two years. The Board has at least three voting members. Missing three consecutive meetings without notice may result in removal from the Board.

Board members are asked to maintain active membership and make an annual cash contribution of at least $350. Board service is about more than giving money. It is about giving leadership, opening doors, sharing expertise, and helping create a stronger future for women veterans.
